We aim to respond to verified privacy requests within 15 business days, unless applicable law permits or requires a different timeframe.

2. What This Policy Covers

This policy applies to personal data collected through the Google Play Android version of GloomHub and related cloud services that support registration, profiles, messaging, live conversations, optional purchases, and safety features. It does not apply to third-party websites or services you may reach through links inside the app; those services are governed by their own policies.

Our service is offered globally unless restricted by law or platform rules in a particular territory.

Where privacy laws such as the GDPR require a legal basis (also called a lawful basis), we rely on the following grounds, depending on the activity:

Processing purposeLegal basis
Providing core app features: account creation, sign-in, profile display, discovery, messaging, and live text or video conversationsPerformance of a contract — processing necessary to deliver the service you request when you register and use the app
Media upload, storage, and delivery for profiles and chatsPerformance of a contract for features you choose to use; consent where required for optional media capture or selection
Analytics, diagnostics, crash reporting, and performance measurementLegitimate interests — understanding reliability, fixing defects, and improving security and product quality; we balance these interests against your rights and expectations
Fraud prevention, abuse detection, content moderation, and account securityLegitimate interests and, where applicable, legal obligation to cooperate with lawful requests and enforce our policies
Optional in-app purchases and entitlement management via Google Play BillingPerformance of a contract when you initiate a purchase; legitimate interests in reconciling transactions and preventing misuse
Safety reports, blocks, and investigationsLegitimate interests in protecting users and maintaining a safe community; legal obligation where reporting is required by law
Responding to privacy rights requestsLegal obligation where applicable; otherwise legitimate interests in honoring your rights

When we rely on consent, you may withdraw it through in-app settings, Android permission controls, or by contacting us. Withdrawal does not affect prior processing that was lawful at the time.

4. Personal Data We Collect and How It Is Obtained

We collect personal data from three main sources: information you provide, data generated through your use of the app, and limited technical data from your Android device.

4.1 Information you provide directly

4.2 Data generated when you use the app

4.3 Data from your Android device (with permission)

When you grant access, the app may read or write photos and videos through Android scoped storage or applicable `READ_MEDIA_IMAGES`, `READ_MEDIA_VIDEO`, and MediaStore APIs. Camera and microphone access is used only while you actively use related features, as described in Section 6.

We do not collect precise location data through GloomHub.

5. How We Use Personal Data

We use personal data to operate, secure, and improve GloomHub. Primary purposes include:

We do not use your personal data for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not sell personal and sensitive user data.

13. California and Virginia Privacy Rights

This section provides additional information for residents of U.S. states with comprehensive privacy laws, including California and Virginia.

13.1 California residents (CCPA / CPRA)

The California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), grants California residents specific rights regarding personal information, including:

To exercise these rights, email genarnorbertbenit@gmail.com. We will verify your request and respond within 15 business days, unless extension is permitted by law.

Under California law, you have the right to know whether we share personal data or personal information with third parties, the categories involved, and the purposes of sharing. We describe our sharing practices in Section 7 of this policy. We do not sell personal and sensitive user data.

Meaning of “share” under the CCPA: In this policy, references to sharing follow the specific definition under California law. “Share” or “sharing” does not simply mean any disclosure to a service provider. Under the CCPA, sharing can include making personal information available to a third party for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not engage in cross-context behavioral advertising through GloomHub. For a complete description of how we disclose data to vendors and infrastructure partners that support app functionality, refer to Section 7 (Third-Party Sharing). California residents may exercise the right to know by emailing genarnorbertbenit@gmail.com; we will respond within 15 business days.

13.2 Virginia residents (VCDPA)

The Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act (VCDPA) provides Virginia residents with rights to access, correct, delete, and obtain a copy of personal data, and to appeal our response if required by law. Submit requests to genarnorbertbenit@gmail.com. We respond within 15 business days where applicable.

How to opt out: The following explains our practices and how to opt out of certain processing where the VCDPA applies:

  1. Targeted advertising — We do not use personal data for targeted advertising as defined under the VCDPA. If you have questions or wish to confirm this status, contact genarnorbertbenit@gmail.com to submit an opt-out request or receive written confirmation of our practice.
  2. Sale of personal data — We do not sell personal data. If you believe a transaction involving your data should be treated as a sale, or you want written confirmation that we do not sell personal data, email genarnorbertbenit@gmail.com to opt out or request confirmation.
  3. Profiling with legal or similarly significant effects — We do not conduct profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects concerning you. If you have concerns or wish to opt out of profiling in this sense, contact genarnorbertbenit@gmail.com using the same channel.

14. Rights for EEA, UK, and Swiss Users

If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have GDPR-style rights including access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, and data portability where applicable. Our legal basis for each processing activity is set out in Section 3.

Where we transfer personal data outside your jurisdiction, we use appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent mechanisms where required. Contact genarnorbertbenit@gmail.com to exercise your rights or ask about transfers.

15. Adults Only — Eligibility and Minors

GloomHub is intended only for individuals aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18.

During onboarding, you must confirm that you meet the age requirement. We do not operate a continuous technical age-gate or ongoing age verification beyond this first-use age declaration. If you are under 18, do not use the app. If we learn that a user is under 18, we may suspend or delete the account and remove associated data as permitted by law.

Parents or guardians who believe a minor has provided personal data should contact genarnorbertbenit@gmail.com.

16. International Data Transfers

Because we operate globally and use cloud infrastructure, personal data may be processed in countries other than your own, including countries that may not provide the same level of data protection as your home jurisdiction. Where required, we implement contractual and organizational safeguards to protect transferred data.

17. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices, technologies, legal requirements, or service features. When we make material changes, we will provide notice through the app, Google Play listing, or other appropriate channels. The “Effective date” at the top indicates when the current version took effect. Continued use after an update constitutes acknowledgment of the revised policy, unless applicable law requires a different form of consent.
